Regional news

A message from the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission.

The weather in northwest Ohio has finally warmed and motorcycles are out. It's time for a reminder to share the road and take some extra precautions.

Motorcycle riders are reminded to obey traffic laws, wear DOT-compliant helmets, and other protective gear; also, be visible by wearing bright colors or using reflective tape.

Drivers of cars, trucks, and buses are reminded to look out for and share the road with motorcyclists. Increasing cooperation among all road users will help to reduce crashes.

This picture is the next-gen vehicle that will be driving the county roads at approximately 30-35 mph collecting this information.

Beginning on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, it became illegal in most circumstances for anyone in Ohio to use or hold a cell phone or electronic device while driving.

A new educational campaign encourages Ohio drivers to "Lock Your Screen Before You Rock the Road." Additional materials relay the simple, but important message of "Phones Down. It's the Law." (PDF fact sheet HERE.)
