What's on your class schedule?

2019-20 school year schedules available next Thursday

News is warming up on the Ada school website after a summer off. Here's the latest news items of interest to students and families of Ada students:

Schedule Pickup - Thursday, Aug. 15
All junior and senior high students will need to pick up their schedules. Scheduled pickup times are as follows:
8-10 a.m. - Grades 7 & 8
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Grades 9 & 10
12-1 p.m. - Office closed for lunch
1-3 p.m. - Grades 11 & 12

I-75 project on pace for 2020 completion

Project in year three of four-year construction schedule

The most significant highway construction project in the Findlay area’s recent history stands at approximately 70% complete.

The Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) $114 million reconstruction and widening of Interstate 75 through Findlay and Hancock County has progressed well. The project is in year three of a four-year construction schedule and is on pace to be completed late next year.

The project is reconstructing five miles of the existing four lanes of I-75 and constructing an additional lane of travel in each direction from just north of the county Road 313 overhead, south of the U.S. 68/state Route 15 interchange, to county Road 99.

Ada planning commission meets Aug. 19

The Ada Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on changes to Chapters 1157 and 1159 of the codified ordinances of Ada.

The meeting is in Ada council chambers at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 19, according to Patty Griffin of the village office.

 

 

Ada school board meets Aug. 15

Ada school board's August meeting is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, according to Meri Skilliter, superintendent.

Ada schools releases free and reduced-price meals policy

Ada schools announced its 2019-2020 program year policy for free and reduced-price meals or free milk for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. 

Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.

Under the provision of the policy, Ann Hersey, Food Service Director, will review applications and determine eligibility.

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool holds Thursday open house

Morning and evening open house hours

Ready, Set, Grow Preschool's open house is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 9:30-11 a.m. or 5:30-7 p.m. The preschool is located at Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St., Ada.

Register for the 2019-20 school year and update any paperwork during the event.

The preschool accepts students ages 3 and up for all day care ($24/day), half day care ($15/day), or preschool (price varies on days enrolled per week).

The preschool has 2, 3, 4, and 5 day enrollment options to meet  scheduling needs. Students are encouraged to be potty-trained.

Also available is after-school care for grades K-5 for $30/week.
