Special Ada council meeting Sept. 10

David Retterer, Ada mayor,  called a special council meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Ada Historic Depot. The purpose of the meeting is to enter into executive session under ORC 121.22(g)(1), terms of employment. 

September is more than just back to school

Ada chamber updates viewers on Harvest and Herb Fest' plus other September happenings

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce reminds Icon viewers that it it Harvest and Herb Festival time this month.

"We have a free kids' area set up at the Depot Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.," said Heather Cox, chamber board president.

"There will be a 38-foot inflatable obstacle course, free pony rides, free professional face painting and crafts, she said.

"We will also have a Chamber table that will have some of our brochures, forms for next year’s booth space and some posters to sell.

Ada Lions want you to see an OSU football game

Raffle underway offers tickets, hotel room and more

If you are an Ohio State football fan, you will love the Ada Lions Club raffle going on this month.

The club fundraiser offers four prizes:
• First – Two tickets to the Saturday, Oct. 5, OSU versus Michigan State football game, plus, overnight stay at a Columbus area choice hotel
• Second – Two tickets to the Saturday, Nov. 9, OSU versus Maryland football game
• Third – An Urban Meyer autographed canvas
• Fourth - $100 cash prize

Any organizations not listed should provide contact information to the Icon.

New Ada tennis courts celebration Sept. 8

Prizes will be given to youth who come out to play

A tennis Fun Night/Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. on the newly refurbished tennis courts at the Ada Park.  

Kids and their parents are encouraged to come (please bring your tennis rackets and tennis shoes) for some fun tennis activities on the courts.

Kids – there could also be some prizes to win as well.  Invitations will also be going out to those who made financial contributions to the newly renovated tennis courts to recognize and thank them.

A rain date in case of inclement weather is set for Monday, Sept. 9.

Historical society holds cemetery tour committee meeting

The Ada Historical Society will hold a cemetery tour committee meeting on Tuesday Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main Street, Ada.
