Ada was the capital of V-8 vehicles gulping leaded gas on Saturday. Not really, but nearly 100 classic vehicles were on display from owners across northwestern Ohio.

"This week's Ada Icon Veggie Garden of the Week belongs to Lee Ann and Dustin Jordan and their daughter, Selena, (in the middle).
The Jordans have grown a garden in their back yard on South Johnson for many years. Their garden this year promises high yields, although recent rains and rabbits have taken their tolls on their beets and lettuce.

The Ada Veggie Garden of the Week highlights vegetable gardens in the Ada area as a way of promoting self-sufficiency and agriculture education.
Red, White and Drive Through parade keeps Vancrest residents waving

It’s possible that the encore was even better than the first time around.
A National Nursing Home Week parade through Vancrest was a big hit in May. The 50+vehicle parade allowed residents to get outside for the first in week and enjoy a parade just for them.
That wasn’t enough for the resident or those paraders. On Wednesday A Red, White and Drive Through parade entertained residents once again.
This parade included several horses in addition to all those 4-wheel vehicles. And, with over 50 participants, it was a 20-minute-and-longer affair.
