Two Ada High School seniors, Brenna Hissong and Jacob Thaxton are the October Kenton Elks Lodge 157 Ada’s teenagers of the month.
Students from each school in Hardin County are recognized each month. This is the first group of students recognized for 2020-2021 school year by the Elks.
Brenna Hissong, has volunteered with the Ada food pantry. Following the Farmers and Merchants Picnic as a freshman, sophomore and junior, she helped in Ada Park cleanup. As a junior, she volunteered in setting up the Governor’s Art Show entries, hosted by Ada High School.

Ada High School graduate Samantha Crawford and a member of the University of Findlay's Marching Oiler Brass, recently performed via livestream during Virtual Homecoming Weekend 2020 to bring Oiler spirit to alumni, parents, and friends all over the world.
Selections included "The Star Spangled Banner," UF's "Alma Mater," and other songs with university spirit. The band is directed by Wes King.
He will coach Bulldog varsity boys' basketball this season

ADA - With basketball practice set to tip off Oct. 30, the Ada athletic department and school district moved quickly to hire a familiar face as the replacement for Dre White, who resigned Oct. 6.
Ada hired veteran local coach Jon Cook at its Oct. 14 school board meeting by a 4-1 vote. Cook previously coached the Bulldog boys varsity squad for three seasons from 1995-98 after a short stint as the junior varsity coach.
He has a varied resume of coaching at many levels, including junior high at Ada as well as collegiately.

Over $3,800 raised in Volley for the Cure.
Ada and Lilncolnview volleyball member pose for a photo at last night's Volley for the Cure game held in Ada.
Erin Robinson, mother of Ada’s freshman volleyball player, Daicy Robinson, was recognized at the game.
Erin is currently winning her second battle with cancer. She has chosen the IBC Network Foundation, as recipient of the proceeds raised this year in coordination with this event.

Ada High School grad Eli Garmon recently participated in the University of Findlay's theatre production of "The End of the World Improv Showcase."
UF students participated as cast members and/or as members of the production crew. Garmon was a cast member of Smack-eos.
Directed by comedian and alumna Sam Woodman '10, the live-streamed show featured 12 masked students and explored a variety of improvisational comedy forms, audience engagement, and spontaneous creativity.
Kylie Colwell, AHS senior, is Icon's artist of the month

Kylie Colwell, an Ada High School senior, is the Icon October artist of the month.
This fall she is enrolled in Art 4 and has taken Art 1, 2 and 3.
She is currently working on her art portfolio to prepare for art school admissions. In addition to visual arts, she has been involved in dance for 14 years.
Gary Wells, Ada HS art teacher said, “Kylie is a naturally gifted artist whose attention to detail has always been superior.”
Kylie's own art comments follow: "This piece (in the photo) is a stylized still-life painting of things I found around the classroom that I made for my college portfolio.
