Ohio Northern University’s Alumni Association presented Distinguished Alumni Awards during a banquet on June 4.
The awards, recognizing outstanding service and loyalty, were presented to Phillip Caris, Michael Kaufmann, Carla Kim, Douglas Mock, Robert Smith and Thomas Vukovich. The banquet was part of Northern’s 2016 Alumni Weekend, held June 3-5.
Ohio Northern University President Daniel A. DiBiasio has announced that Dr. John C. Navin, dean of the School of Business at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), has been named dean of ONU’s Dicke College of Business Administration.
Navin replaces the retiring Dr. Jim Fenton, who has served as dean since 2005.
“Ohio Northern University is pleased to welcome Dr. Navin to our campus and leadership team,” said DiBiasio. “We are excited to have attracted John to the dean’s position and look forward to his arrival. His success in external relations, fundraising, corporate partnerships and professional activities will be a true asset to the University.”
The Lima Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day with a “Patriotic Pops” concert on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Saturday, July 2, at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
This summer's Ada Community Engagement Day is from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The Cadets, one of the oldest and most honored continuously operating drum and bugle corps in the country, will perform at Ohio Northern University’s Dial-Roberson Stadium on Monday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
The nationally renowned corps will present its 2016 production, “Awakening.” The corps also will perform patriotic selections and classics from past seasons.
Over the past month, the Cadets, consisting of 150 members between the ages of 16 and 22, has practiced and perfected its show at ONU for the upcoming year. A program of Youth Education in the Arts, the group has members from all over the country and world.
The Ohio Northern University National Tour Choir will conclude its 2016 national tour with a home concert in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, June 20, at 8 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. A freewill offering for the touring group will be taken.
