Tower Dou recital Nov. 4 in Presser Hall

Tower Duo will present a recital at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at Ohio Northern University in the Presser Hall recital hall. The event is free and open to the public. The Tower Duo consists of Erin Helgeson Torres on flute and Michael Rene Torres on saxophone.

Erin Helgeson Torres is member of the music faculty at Ohio Northern as well as a performing musician with groups such as the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Louisville Orchestra. Michael Torres is a composer, educator and curator who is a faculty member at Ohio State University.

Next Ada Chats on Friday at Heterick Library

Presidential electors and Electoral College on program

Join the next Ada Chats, Friday, Nov. 4 at noon, in Heterick Memorial Library, Ohio Northern Univeristy campus.

This rousing hour program will include a short discourse by, Dr. Robert Alexander,  who will be discusing the Presidential Electors and the Electoral College, followed by ONU students, Troy Brinkman and Derek Price, who will speak about their recent attendance at the Republic and Democratic National Conventions.

The event is free and open to all who wish to attend.

The event is co-sponosored by Heterick Memorial Library, Ohio Northern, and the Ada Public Library.

Jami Dellifield selected for National Extension Leadership Development program

One of 36 participants from 12-state North Central Region

Jami Dellifield has been selected as one of  36 participants from the 12-state North Central Region to participate in the National Extension Leadership Development (NELD) program

She is Ohio State University Extension, Hardin County, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator.

NELD is managed by Extension leadership specialists at the University of Minnesota.

Dedication held during homecoming for Mifsud Collaborative Learning Center

The Oscar J. and Judith D. Mifsud Collaborative Learning Center on the first floor of the Heterick Memorial Library at Ohio Northern University was formally dedicated during a ceremony held Oct. 14.

ONU men's soccer team advances to OAC tourney title game

Polar Bears 4-0 over Capital

The No. 8-ranked Ohio Northern men's soccer team used a strong first half effort to defeat Capital 4-0 on Wednesday evening and advance to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday.

The Polar Bears improve to 17-1-3 overall, while the Crusaders fall to 14-4-2.

Northern advances to the OAC Tournament Championship game and will face No. 1-seeded John Carroll.

Senior Austin Horton (Lewis Center/Olentangy) scored two goals in the first four minutes of the contest to lead ONU offensively.

Looks like another great year for ONU women's bball team

OAC coaches pick Polar Bears to win the conference

The No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team was picked to win the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title in the OAC Preseason Poll, voted on by the leagues 10 coaches.

The Polar Bears recieved 79 points and seven first place votes.

Baldwin Wallace was picked to finish second with 74 points and three first place votes, while Wilmington was picked to round out the top three with 57 points.

Northern is looking for its third consecutive OAC Regular Season title after finishing 23-5 overall and 17-1 in the OAC a season ago and advancing to the second round of the NCAA III Tournament.
