While at ONU, Larry J. Merlo, president and chief executive officer of CVS Health, said, "As change accelerates in health care, pharmacy can drive important solutions in the areas of cost, quality and access."
"In fact, I believe we are witnessing the beginning of a reinvention of pharmacy that will help drive more affordable, accessible and effective care," he said while delivering the Sebok lecture on campus.
At the conclusion of the talk, Merlo, along with Hanley Wheeler, an ONU graduate and CVS Health senior vice president, presented the College of Pharmacy with a corporate grant of $50,000.
1903 the Rail Road Park cannon was erected, aimed directly at Ft. Sumter South Carolina.
March 1917 a state charter was granted to the Ada Hospital association. Signers of the charter were Dr. L.W. Campbell, Dr. C.S. Ames, H.S. Lehr, C.W. Breck, T.J. Smull, E.E. McAlpin, and L.O. Ream.
Mrs. George Anderson spoke for the women at the charter meeting.

During the men's swimming and diving competition, the Polar Bears finished in second place out of seven teams in the 20 events, snapping their impressive streak of 12 consecutive conference championships. The OAC competition was held over three days at the University of Akron.
Senior John Raker (Labanon/Lakota West) won the 200 fly title.
After two runner-up finishes in 2016 and 2014, Raker won his first OAC title in the event by nearly a second.
The 400 free relay team of senior Eric Chen (Mason), sophomore Pete He(Mason), junior Ian Simpson (Strongsville) and senior Logan Pfeifer (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) won the OAC crown.

Ohio Northern placed third among 7 teams in the OAC women's swimming and diving competition last weekend at the University of Akron. There were 20 events during the three-day event.
Freshman Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) won the 200 fly.
Sophomore Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) earned All-Conference accolades in the 200 back, finishing second.
Junior Sydney Veon (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) and senior Stephanie Brookens (Louisville) earned All-OAC honors in the 100 free.
