Carolyn Sue Daniels 1947-2020

 Carolyn Sue Daniels, age 73, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 4:45 AM at Mercy-Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on September 10, 1947 in Estill, Kentucky to the late James F. and Mary “Mag” (VanHoose) Burkett.   On January 9, 1971 Sue married Eskanovah “Esky” Daniels, he survives in Alger.

Sue worked at Whirlpool in Findlay.  She was a loving wife and mother and a devoted Mama to her grandchildren.

Joe Saltzman was a former Ada teacher

He owned Joe Saltzman Rentals in Ada

John Joseph "Joe" Saltzman, Jr., age 79, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at 1:05 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay.

He was born at home on July 3, 1941, to the late John Joseph and Priscilla (Miller) Saltzman, Sr. Joe married Patricia (Rose) Saltzman on May 29, 1965, and they were married for 55 years and she survives in Ada. 

Joe graduated from Vanlue High School in 1959, The Ohio State University and received his master's degree from Bowling Green State University. He was a school teacher at Ada High School for seven years and Hardin Northern Schools for three years.  

Jim Griffith was retired from Proctor & Gamble

James A. “Jim” Griffith, age 72, passed away at his residence in Lakeview on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1948, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Robert and Vesta (Miller) Griffith. 

James retired from Proctor & Gamble of Lima, where he worked as a product manager.  James was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He served in the Mediterranean as a Crew Chief on the Aircraft Carrier the John F. Kennedy.  He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodge of Lakeview.

He is survived by his two sisters: Mary Bea Agin of Ada and Bobbie (Lee) Hansel of Livingston, N.J.

It was James’ wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  

Private services planned at a later date for Jeffrey Hinds

Jeffrey Dean Hinds, 68, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at 1:50 a.m. at the Pecan Nursing Home in Kennedale, Texas.

He was born on June 18, 1952, to Glenn E. and Rosabelle “Rosie” (Warrington) Hinds. His father survives in Ada and his mother preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 2008.

Also surviving is his daughter, Racheal Hinds Williams of Upper Sandusky; three grandsons: Bradley Baird, Logan Coleman and Jackson Snook all of Upper Sandusky; a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Mick Harpel of Kenton.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Teri Sue Hites-Suter was a USV graduate

Terri Sue Hites-Suter, 72, died Dec. 17, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System.  Terri was born August 18, 1948, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late David and Myra (Cox) Grant. On Sept. 25, 2000 she married Walter "Steve" Suter who survives.

Terri graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School and later graduated from beauty school. Terri had taught at Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima and retired from Hardin County Job and Family Services. She was a member of the Roundhead United Methodist Church. 

Funeral arrangements incomplete for Timothy Dyer II

Timothy Ray Dyer, II, 45, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at 12:04 a.m. at Milan General Hospital in Milan, Tennessee.

He was born on July 29, 1975, in Kenton, Ohio to Timothy R. and Rhonda K. Dyer, Sr. and they survive in Ada.  

Timothy worked as a Supervisor for Reinhausen Manufacturing in Tennessee.

Also surviving are his three daughters: Maggie L. Dyer of Ada, and twins, Amanda Mae Dyer of Ada and Abby Kay Dyer of Medina, Tennessee; a sister, Rebecca (Nickie) Suarez of Ada; a nephew, Vincent Suarez; paternal grandmother, Rose Marie Dyer; and maternal grandmother, Lucille Cheney.
