Beatrice "Bea" Bolen was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods

Beatrice “Bea” Bolen, 88, died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at 1:10 a.m. at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kenton.         

She was born June 5, 1927, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Tom and Stella (Wright) Puckett who preceded her in death. On Aug. 20, 1946, she married Tivis Bolen who died on July 20, 1999.          

Bea retired after working 30 years for Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada . She attended the Alger Baptist Church.

Robert Sopher was a LaFayette-Jackson High School graduate

Robert R. Sopher, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at 7:18 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center. Robert was born to Rev. Joseph F. Sopher and EmmaBelle (Forrest) Sopher on Feb. 25, 1936 in Rushsylvania, Ohio.

Robert graduated from LaFayette-Jackson High School in 1954, where he participated in high school choruses, high school band and class plays. He was also active in sports, where his favorite was playing football. He was on the starting lineup and earned his Varsity “L” letters.

Roberta Joseph was a retired cook at Allen East

Roberta J. Joseph, 82, died on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at 3:05 AM at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.

She was born on July 25, 1933 in LaFayette, Ohio to Harry Russell and Zella (Long) Hawk who preceded her in death. On Feb. 17, 1951 she married Thomas E. Joseph and he survives in LaFayette, Ohio.

Roberta retired from Allen East High School after 20 years as a cook. She attended LaFayette –Jackson High School and the Ohio State Beauty Academy. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of LaFayette, where she played the organ for several years. Roberta was a member of the LaFayette Community Choir and the Lima Sweet Adelines of Lima, Ohio.

Corbin Jonathan Vermillion, 2 months, died on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at 7:01 a.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Corbin was born on Aug. 17, 2015,in Lima, Ohio, to Logan J. Vermillion and Amanda N. Kindle who survive in Forest.

Melinda Alice Edwards 1932-2015

Melinda Alice Edwards, 83, died on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at 1:50 p.m. at her son’s residence in Lima, Ohio.

Alice was born on July 9, 1932, in Hardin County, Ohio to Kinner and Lottie (Ousley) Cornwell who preceded her in death. In November of 1958 she married Charles Oscar Edwards and he died on Aug. 31, 2003.

Thomas "Skip" Bassitt graduated from Beaverdam High School

Thomas "Skip" Edgar Bassitt, 72, of Lecanto, Fla., and formerly of Bluffton died Oct. 21, 2015, at his residence. 

Thomas was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Bluffton to the late Loren "Bill" and Margaret "Peg" (McGuire) Bassitt.  On Aug. 28, 1999, he married Sharen Fuller Bassitt and she survives.

Thomas grew up in Beaverdam and graduated from Beaverdam High School in 1960.  He served in the United States Army from 1960-1963, serving part of his term in Germany.
