Bayliff and Sons Funeral Home handling arrangements for Brianna Green

Brianna Green, 22, formerly of Lima, died the morning of Dec. 30,2015, at her residence.

Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville are handling the arrangements.

Ruth Brown worked at the Ada Herald for 26 years

Ruth M. Brown, 95, died on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at 10:30 P.M. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

She was born on June 18, 1920 in Ada, Ohio, to Ernest P. and Ethel G. (Montgomery) Klingler who preceded her in death. On Nov. 19, 1937 she married Russel A. “Bud” Brown and he died on May 9, 1999.

Ruth worked at The Ada Herald for 26 years and was also employed by Ada Schools as a High School Study Hall monitor for a few years, along with being a farmer’s wife. She was a life-time member of St. Paul’s UCC of rural Ada and attended very faithfully until December 2015.

Stratton Minix was retired from Ford Motor Co.

Stratton Minix, 81, died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 11:54 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.  

He was born on Jan. 6, 1934, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to Bill and Laura (Watkins) Minix and they preceded him in death. He was raised by Leander and Laura Rowe. Stratton married Bonnie L. Burris on Dec. 31, 1982, and she survives in Alger. 

Stratton retired in 1999 after 35 years from Ford Motor Company, Lima as a stock handler. He was a life member of the McGuffey Conservation Club. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. 

Richard Lasko memorial service on Dec. 30

Richard Lasko, 78, died on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.

He was born on July 18, 1937, in Niles, Ohio, to Anthony and Marianne (Belicki) Lasko who preceded him in death. On Aug. 26, 1967, he married Judith McClure and she died Jan. 21, 2014.

Delores Howard 1934-2015

Dolores A. Howard, 81, died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at 8:42 p.m. at Cridersville Healthcare Center, Cridersville.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1934, in LaFayette, Ohio to John and Audrey (Kollars) Hattery, Sr. who preceded her in death. Dolores married Dayton Howard on June 5, 1960, and he survives in Cridersville.

Dolores was a homemaker. She attended the Lima Baptist Temple.

Also surviving are three brothers: John (Joyce) Hatter, Jr. of Bluffton, Mike (Shari) Hattery of Cridersville and Larry (Beverly) Hattery of Utica; and a sister, Mariam (Bill) Sayre of Kenna, W.V.

Lloyd "Walt" Early was a 1941 Ada High School graduate

Lloyd "Walt" Early, 93, of Jenera, died on Thursday at the Good Samaritan Home in Arlington. Walt was born on Aug., 7, 1922 in Allen County to the late Schuyler C. and Josephine L. (Bundy) Early. He was married to Marilyn W. Betz, Marjory E. Robbins and Betty A. VanDeventer and they all have preceded him in death.

On Nov. 4, 1995 he married Carolyn E. Woodward and she survives.  Walt was a graduate of Ada High School in 1941. Walt was a U.S. Army veteran as a PFC in the 99th Infantry, Air Cadet in the 78th Infantry Division during WWII, seeing combat in several battles including the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland, Ramagen, Bridge, Ruhr Pocket and Colonge Plains.
