Katie Robinson named assistant Women's Soccer coach

Katie Robinson has been named the assistant women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern. Robinson also currently serves as the head coach of the U-15 and U-18 club teams at Ohio Premier.

Robinson joins the Polar Bears from Capital, where she served as an assistant for one season, helping the Crusaders make a run to the Final Four. Before coaching at Capital, Robinson served as a graduate assistant at Goucher (Md.) College from 2011-2013.

Robinson was a three-time All-OAC honoree at Capital from 2007-2009 and was named OAC Forward of the Year in 2008. She graduated from Capital in 2010 with a degree in athletic training and received her masters degree from Goucher in 2013.

Deb Curlis updates Kiwanis members on Ada chamber

President Heather Cox called the weekly meeting of the Ada Kiwanis Club to order at 12:00 noon on Tuesday February 25th at McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University.

Jon Umphress offered the invocation.

The membership anniversary of member Sharon MacKenzie (February 27, 1996) was noted.

In business:
-Treasurer Bryan Marshall updated members on club finances.
-Secretary Brian Myers reported that information on this spring’s Key Leader Conference has been received. Pancake & sausage ticket sales teams have been are distributed with the minutes.

Here's Ada's March Bingo schedule

Ada Bingo plays on Thursdays at the Alumni N-men’s Building in downtown Ada. During March, bingo nights are March 6, March 13, March 20 and March 27.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; bingo begins at 6:55 p.m.

Ada Bingo uses new, radio-controlled electronic machines, as well as traditional paper packages. Proceeds from Ada Bingo benefits the Ada Lion's Club, Ada Music Boosters and the Ada-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.

BVH Auxiliary Nearly New Shop to hold prom dress collection and distribution

The Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary’s Nearly New Shop is accepting donations for their annual prom dress distribution. Items accepted include gently used dresses, shoes, accessories and men’s formal wear.

The items can be dropped off at the Nearly New Shop, 306 Lima Avenue, Findlay, now through March 10. The dresses, shoes, accessories and men’s wear will be available free of charge beginning March 14 to any area teen needing items for prom. One dress per girl will be provided. Items will be available through prom season.

Ada Junior High and High School Winter Guard competition season underway

Countless hours have been spent developing and practicing this year’s competition programs for the Ada Jr. High and High School Winter Guard participants.

Practices have been ongoing since Thanksgiving last year for the Ada Jr. High Winter Guard, High School Rifle Line, and High School Winter Guard groups, which are under the direction of Jonathan Lischak and Amy Webb.
