Nothing like a small-town fall festival - and here's Ada's!

Rain...trains...wide loads on State Route 235.

Don't remember the 30th annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce's Harvest and Herb Festival with those scenes.

Instead, Scott and Arlene Allison, festival co-chairs, made certain that the show went on. And it did.

Football: Stifling Spencerville defense stops Bulldogs

By Dusty Donley

The typically high-powered Ada offense couldn't find its groove against a stifling Spencerville defense as the Bulldogs dropped their Northwest Conference opener to the Bearcats, 35-7.

Four interceptions and an injury to starting quarterback Seth Conley contributed to the road loss. Ada now finds itself 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in the NWC.

A Zach Goecke 51-yard touchdown run and a Wyatt Krouskop pick six got things rolling for the Bearcats early, as they would take a 13-0 first quarter lead.

Harvest and Herb attendees:

30 years of a glorious fall festival in Ada Ohio, and this year we have 30 minutes of  “HOLY COW! What else can happen?”

Our typical, perfect, sunny, fall day was replaced this year with cloudy rain. Our traditionally spectacular parade was interrupted by a harder rain, wind, thunder, lightening and then literally divided in half by the railroad gates going down.

But the parade MUST go on, until an actual train of 100 plus cars decided to pass by. In the 30 years of the festival this was only the third train appearance.
