When you move from the hustle and bustle of New York City to living in small town Ada, that's a story.
And Amy Eddings, who did just that with her husband, Mark Hilan, described the adventure of their move in the December issue of "Guideposts" magazine.
"Guideposts" has a readership of 5 million.
"The magazine connects with readers through true stories of hope, inspiration, and personal triumph.
The 5-page article tells why they moved from The Big Apple to 508 N. Main. In the story, the home is described as "gorgeous pistachio-colored century-old Queen Anne Victorian."
Amy was WNYC host for NPR "All Things Considered" while Mark was news anchor for WINS. They pretty much had the city's radio news and commentary wrapped up with tens of thousands of listeners. So, why leave? Read the article.
Moving to Ada wasn't quite the relaxed life they envisioned. The story tells of trials and tribulations remodeling the large, stately home, not only refurbishing it for themselves to live in but also get ready for a bed and breakfast.
Nevertheless, they are accomplishing their dream and look forward to opening the B and B in the near future.
The nationally-circulated magazine also has a brief story about the writer of the article (Amy) and tells of their bed and breakfast venture. How's that for free publicity? 5 million readers and counting.
Being an inspirational magazine, the story in "Guideposts" describes the couple's trust and faith in God during this new chapter in their lives.
