Crime Task Force arrests two in buy/bust operation

 On June 15 The Hardin County Crime Task Force conducted a buy/bust operation of stolen items, according to Keith A. Everhart, sheriff.

During the operation $1,325 cash, two vehicles, eight hits of heroin, 43 pills, seven suboxone strips, and approximately $1,144.78 worth of stolen items from local businesses were recovered. 

One male and one female were arrested and transported to the Multi County Correctional Center on Theft and Receiving Stolen Property charges. 

Other charges are pending in this investigation. The Hardin County Crime Task Force was assisted by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Osborn's Towing.
 

Taylor's Way 5K Saturday at Hardin Northern

Taylor's Way third annual 5K run/walk will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Hardin Northern High School.

Proceeds go to St. Jude's Hospital, local children in need, and county food pantries. Bring a canned good the day of the race.

If you cannot run, you can walk or just come and support the event, which is in memory of Taylor Carder.

It's ONU's 45th year for its summer youth music camp. Ensemble concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Then on Friday, the full choir, band, and orchestras perform at 8 p.m. at The Freed Cener. ONU music camp concert Thursday and Friday evenings

One hundred music campers arrived on the ONU campus Sunday and will conclude their week of study and practice with concerts on Thursday and Friday in the Freed Center.

Ensemble concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The next evening the full choir, band, and orchestras perform at 8 p.m. The public is invited.

The camp, for students in grades 7-12, draws aspiring musicians from several states and Germany.

A full day of activity begins with breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and concludes with lights out at 10 p.m.

VBS at Riley Creek Baptist

Ada American Legion selects 5 students for Boys-Girls State

Ada students are Ashley Breidenbach and Jacob Park.

Five Hardin County seniors are delegates in their respective Buckeye Boys and Girls State programs this week. The students were selected by Ada American Legion Post 185.

Ashley Breidenbach, Ada High School, is a Girls State delegate.

She is the daughter of Travis and Tracy Breidenbach. Ashley is active in cheerleading, Varsity Singers, Drama Club, FFA, Student Council, and was Junior Class president.
