It was more than just a library pool party for Natalie and Amanda

Natalie Walton, head of youth services at Ada Public Library, scoops up some spaghetti from the park grass.

Meanwhile, below:

"I will be right with you as soon as I get this spaghetti off of me...the chairs...out of the grass." What began as a pool party with 128 people attending, ended with pizza in the shelter house at War Memorial Park on Wednesday..then a spaghetti toss at some brave librarians.

Three employee promotions announced by Liberty National Bank

Amanda Clum - Sara Reese - Jeremy Malick

Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., President and CEO of Liberty National Bank and its board of directors promoted three employees to higher status as a reflection of their job performances and daily responsibilities.

Amanda Crum has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Deposit Operations Manager, BSA, OFAC, Privacy and Information Security Officer. She has been a part of the Liberty team since May of 1999.

ONU honors six with Distinguished Alumni Awards

Ohio Northern University’s Alumni Association presented Distinguished Alumni Awards during a banquet on June 4.

The awards, recognizing outstanding service and loyalty, were presented to Phillip Caris, Michael Kaufmann, Carla Kim, Douglas Mock, Robert Smith and Thomas Vukovich. The banquet was part of Northern’s 2016 Alumni Weekend, held June 3-5.

Two ONU golfers WGCA all-American scholars

Juniors Ariana Tomasula and Jennifer Hipskind have been named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars for the 2015-16 golf season.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Tomasula, an accounting major from Rocky River led Northern with a team-low 87.5 average and five top-10 finishes during the 2015-16 season.

She was also named All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC.

In an attempt to confound our readers, we selected this slightly-leaning historical marker. Know where it is located? 

Hint, the Ohio historical marker tells about the Hog Creek Marsh and was placed by the Ohio Historical Society with funds raised by the Heirloomers Club of Dola and Ada, 39 years ago.

ANSWER:
The marker stands along the southside of State Route 81 between Ada and Dola. The area was once a shallow lake, but the clearing of 8,000 acres in 1868 turned the land into usable farm country.
