Outside sources confirm Ohio Northern University’s strong reputation. This fall, several ranking services again rank ONU among the best universities for offering an exceptional educational experience.
The rankings give high marks to Ohio Northern in a variety of categories. While the criteria differ, the common denominator is the recognition of the value of relevancy of an Ohio Northern degree.
Deputy Austin Carey and his K-9 partner in training, Axel, were recent recipients of a K-9 trauma kit from K9s of Valor, an organization whose mission is to provide life saving and essential equipment for K-9 teams. Former All-American and current senior cross country standout Ian McVey was named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week honoree.
McVey claimed the NCAA Division III Men's Athlete of the Week recognition for the second week of competition during the 2018 season. He would be listed among 10 student-athletes representing institutions at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels and the two divisions of the NJCAA.
The senior is the first student-athlete in Ohio Northern school history to ever receive a USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week accolade in cross country.
Dear Ada Community,
It didn’t take me long to learn that our vision of “Aspiring to excel in all areas of the school experience” is not just words.
Ada Schools really lives this vision. We share it with students and staff alike, and refer to it when making decisions. Recent successes at Ada Schools include improvements in technology, significant increases in the number of College Credit Plus courses offered on campus, a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) series of classes, additions to middle school electives, and continued implementation of the Literacy Collaborative to improve reading skills for elementary students.
When a new project is undertaken on an old one renewed, it is the result of the keen interest and lively enthusiasm of a few individuals. A small group composed of such persons is responsible for the renewed interest in an Ada High Annual. It is with sincere appreciation and praise that we dedicate this issue of the “ADA WATCHDOG” to that small but industrious group. This was the return of the Ada high school yearbook after some years without one.
