Darlene J. Sexton, age 68, died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 4:30 a.m. at her residence in Rosewood, Ohio.

          She was born on September 3, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Chester and Roxie (Dyer) Dyer.   On August 17, 1974 Darlene married Roger  Sexton and he survives in Rosewood.

          Darlene retired from the U.S. Postal Service where she was a rural carrier.  She attended the Church of the Nazarene in St. Paris, Ohio.

Ohio registered voters have received absentee balloting material from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office for the Tuesday, Nov. 6, general election.

To request an absentee ballot, simply complete the attached application and return it to your county board of elections as far in advance of the election as possible.

During the absentee voting period you may visit your county board of elections or designated early vote center to vote in person.

ADA - Short-handed Ada will try to snap a two-game losing skid when they entertain league rival Delphos Jefferson Friday night in the Northwest Conference opener between a pair of 1-2 squads.

DJ crushed Stryker 47-0 on the road last Friday in week three for its first win. The Wildcats lost big to Shawnee (49-0) and Versailles (47-14) in their first two games.

Injury-plagued Ada is coming off of two losses after an opening victory over USV, but hopes to get off on the right foot in league play in week four.

The Ohio Northern football team received 25 votes in the second weekly 2018 D3football.com, released on Sunday.

 

This marks the 15th time in the last 17 seasons that the Polar Bears have been been mentioned in a national poll.

The 25 points is the 30th-most in the poll.

The Polar Bears (2-0 overall, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 14 points in the preseason poll, and 13 points in the first weekly poll last week.

Ohio Northern joins Mount Union (#1), John Carroll (#20) and Baldwin Wallace (31 points) as OAC schools in the poll.
