July 29 pool party with Quest FCU and WKTN

Mark your calendar: from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29 Quest Federal Credit Union, 232 N. Main St., Ada and WKTN are hosting a pool party at the Ada Municipal Pool.

WKTN will be bringing music and prizes.

APL hosts "Intro to Geocaching"

At 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, the Ada Public Library will host An Introduction to Geocaching.

Here's what geocaching is, and how you say it. Geocaching (JEE-oh-cash-ing) combines hiking and cell phone technology to help you find a hidden goal.

The name is a mashup of “geography” and “cache."

July 27 Community Meal at St. Mark Lutheran

A free Community Meal will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 27 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.. The church is located at the corner of Lincoln and Johnson streets.

You may dine in, carry out, or drive up for curbside service. The menu:

  • Cold Cut Sandwich
  • Pasta Salad
  • Chips
  • Fruit
  • Cookie

Last month the church served 148 meals. Organizers note, "so arrive early before we run out. We would love to see you."

Clyde Franklin Brown served in the U.S. Army

Clyde Franklin Brown, age 92, of Ada, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 12:45 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

Clyde was born on November 12, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky to Cholia and Lacy Brown, who preceded him in death.  He served proudly in the United State Army during the Korean War, stationed in Korea for four years. Clyde married Betty Jo Hall on February 26, 1954, in Ada, Ohio.  She preceded him in death on January 25, 2017. Clyde retired from Lima’s Clark Equipment in 1981. He then worked for General Dynamics in Lima until he retired in 1992.
