It's that time of year

After weeks of perhaps unseasonably nice weather, the Ada and Bluffton Icons' coverage area received the first snow for Fall 2022 on Saturday, November 12. That meant snow on NCAA DIII men's soccer play in Ada and snow on the newly installed holiday garlands in downtown Bluffton.

Iconoclast #2: One year in

By Paula Scott
Bluffton Icon and Ada Icon editor-owner

On Friday, November 11, I posted an item noting that the Icon office would be closed for the day. It is part of my new scheme to schedule a few days off while the Icons provide fresh content every day. The item resulted in a letter that opened, “You FINALLY have identified yourself….”

Perhaps this would be a good time to reintroduce myself.

After playing No. 15 North Park (Ill.) to a scoreless draw through regulation and overtime, the No. 11 Ohio Northern men's soccer team prevailed 4-3 on penalty kicks in Sunday's NCAA Division III Tournament second-round game at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears (13-3-5) now advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament where they will face Williams (Mass.), which defeated top-ranked Messiah (Pa.) in PKs in the second round. Dates, times and locations for third-round games will be announced on Monday afternoon.

The Vikings close their season with a record of 15-3-3.
