Funeral arrangements for Ruth E. Hutchinson

Ruth Evelyn Hutchinson, age 84, of Alger, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 1:13 p.m. at her residence, surrounded by her family.  

She was born on September 5, 1938 in Wyandot County, Ohio to the late Frank and Emma J. (Whitaker) Spradlin. On June 14, Ruth married Richard Hutchinson and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1993.

Elzay Gallery hosts work by ceramic artist Joseph Delphia

The Elzay Gallery of Art, 503 S. Gilbert St., is currently hosting an exhibit titled "Upstream" by ceramic artist Joseph Delphia. Delphia lives with his wife and children on a small farm in northwest Ohio where he creates functional wood-fired pottery and teaches art at Pettisville Local Schools. The exhibit runs until April 6.

You’ve heard of a “pain in the neck,” but did you know that back pain is more common, affecting eight out of every 10 adults during their lifetime?  With a statistic like that, learning to prevent back injuries is important to your health and well-being.

There are six key steps to avoiding back injuries at work or at play.

Frequent position changes 
Prolonged positioning places increased stress on your back. So, get up and move, frequently change positions and take breaks from repetitive activities.

Pushing/Pulling  
Stand up straight and push whenever possible. Pushing is easier on your back.

Ada Schools announce 3rd quarter Honor Roll

The Ada Exempted Village Schools have announced the following Honor Roll for grades 4-12 for the third quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year. A Dean's List is also recognised for grades 7-12. By our count, 328 students recieve special recognition.

Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving

COLUMBUS–As St. Patrick’s Day celebrations take place this week throughout the state, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and local law enforcement will work together to remove impaired drivers from the roadways. The effort is part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving campaign.
