Four killed in Co Rd 144 crash

On Thursday October 26 at 5:34 p.m. Hardin County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a two vehicle crash in the 20,000 block of Co Rd 144. Upon arrival it was determined that the crash involved a head-on collision between an east bound sedan and a west bound minivan. The investigation shows that the west bound minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed and went left of center, striking head on the east bound sedan. Upon further investigation it was determined that there were four deceased persons, two in each vehicle.

Tonight's the night for tricks and treats, October 26

Village of Ada Trick or Treat will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Be sure to turn your porch light on to indicate if you are ready for trick or treaters. Some area businesses have also indicated that they will be ready for drop-in guests.

The National Weather Service forecast is partly sunny, with a high near 75. Southwest wind 13 to 17 mph.

Ohio sheep producers visit Michigan

Fourteen Ohio sheep producers, industry representatives, and an OSU Extension Educator visited five different Michigan Lamb Marketing and Dry Lot/Confinement Sheep Operations the weekend of Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2023. This year’s tour was jointly sponsored by the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and Hardin County OSU Extension. In addition to enjoying the fall color of the trees, producers were able to ask questions of the operators and see these farms as part of this tour in the state of Michigan. Topics included facilities, production, management, and marketing of lamb.

Ada Public Library levy renewal is on November 7 ballot

The Ada Icon asked Ada Public Library director Rhett Grant for some background on the library levy renewal that will be presented to Ada voters on the November 7 general election ballot (see your ballot on the Hardin County Board of Elections page HERE).

A majority affirmative vote is required for passage of the tax levy renewal, which would take effect in 2025.
