ARLINGTON – The Ada High School volleyball team dropped both matches of a non-league triangular event Saturday morning at Arlington with Hardin Northern.
The Bulldogs fell to the Red Devils in straight sets, and lost to the HN Polar Bears in three games to drop to 3-3 this season.
Arlington improved its record to 6-1, while Northern is 2-4.
First up, Ada lost to host Arlington by a 25-20, 25-21 count.
Bulldog senior Tess Griffith came up with seven digs and knocked down four kills. Classmate libero Jenna Bassitt hustled up 13 digs.
Junior Anna Conley and sophomore Brooklyn Andreasen each hit four kills.
Sophomore Dailah Preston knocked down four kills and made two blocks.
Sophomore setter Jaylin St. Laurent passed out six assists and served one ace.
Junior Alainee Buxton passed out eight assists.
Senior Natilyn McClain added one ace.
In the match vs. the Polar Bears, Ada won the first set 25-19, but Northern rallied to take the final two games by close scores of 25-23 and 25-21.
Griffith compiled 15 digs and nine kills. Bassitt mustered up 19 digs.
Andreasen hammered nine kills, while Conley hit five. St. Laurent dished out 16 assists.
Preston contributed a pair of blocks. Senior Kennedy Jones served up three aces.
Ada hosts Liberty-Benton (1-3) on Wednesday, September 4, in their first Blanchard Valley Conference match.
