Weekend Doctor: Taking care with fall yardwork

As the trees are in their final stages of losing their leaves, the temperatures begin to drop, and the winds begin to pick up, many homeowners start feeling the pressure of getting their fall yard cleaning done before winter sets in. 

Bulldog girls basketball opens season with loss at McComb

The Ada High School girls basketball team tipped off its season with a 54-30 loss at non-league foe McComb Friday night, November 24.

Panther freshman guard Morgan Kern fired in five three-point field goals to tally a game-high 21 points in her varsity debut. No one else on either team canned a single trey.

McComb jumped to an 18-9 lead after the first period as the 5-9 Kern hit two triples. She added another trey in the second stanza as the Panthers stretched the lead to 27-16 at the half.

The Panthers outscored Ada 27-14 after intermission to pull away and capture the win. Kern nailed two more trifectas and scored eight points to lead McComb to an 11-7 third quarter edge.

The Bulldog girls start off 0-1 after the road defeat. McComb is 1-0.

Carolyn A. Craig worked for Kroger

Carolyn A. Craig, age 80, of Kenton, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 5:30 a.m. at the Shawnee Manor, Lima. 

She was born on March 15, 1943 in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Leonard and Esther (Hurt) Hinton.  On October 4, 1963 Carolyn married Edgar C. Craig and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2015.  

Multiple injury crash on SR 309

On November 22, 2023 at 11:35 a.m., the Hardin County Central Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls in regards to an injury crash at the intersection of Co. Rd. 15 and St Rt 309. Upon arrival deputies found 2 vehicles off the west side of Co. Rd. 15 in a private yard.

Bulldog girls basketball builds around Burkhart, four seniors

The Ada High School girls basketball team returns six letter winners and four senior starters for second-year varsity head coach Zack Ricker in 2023-24.

The Bulldogs almost authored their first winning season since 2015-16 last year behind graduated all-time scoring leader Courtney Sumner.
