Ada HS baccalaureate, commencement, alumni banquet set

Several Ada High School end-of-year traditions continue in a few weeks.

The high school baccalaureat is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, in English Chapel on the Ohio Northern Unversity campus.

Ada High School commenement is Sunday, May 27, in the high school auditorium.

The Ada High School alumni banquet is at 5:40 p.m., Saturday, June 2, in the school cafeteria and auditorium. The building opens at 4 p.m. of the event.

June baseball camp for junior high students

Ada High School baseball coach Campbell will have a youth baseball camp for anyone in grades 7th and 8th Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4 to 6. There are forms in the high school office for any 7th or 8th grader who would like to attend the camp.

Metz Petz Veterinary Clinic supporter of "Mutt Strutt and Canine Carnival" May 19

A Lotta Love Pet Rescue, a tax-exempt animal welfare organization, will hold its annual "Mutt Strutt and Canine Carnival" fund raising dog walk on Saturday, May 19, in the Farout Park Amphitheater in Lima, according to David Baumgartner of Bluffton.

Blanchard Valley Hospital holds diabetes support group meetings

Blanchard Valley Hospital, in partnership with the Greater Northwest Ohio Diabetes Association and the Findlay YMCA, will be holding diabetes support group meetings.
The meetings will include an educational presentation and discussion. All meeting will be held from 7-8 p.m. in the pool room at the downtown Findlay YMCA, 300 E. Lincoln St., Findlay.

"The Tiger's Wife" book discussion Tuesday at the library

The next book discussion by the Ada Public Library centers on the book "The Tiger's Wife," by Téa Obreht. The discussion is held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, in the library.

Brief summary
In a Balkan country mending from war, Natalia, a young doctor, is compelled to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding her beloved grandfather’s recent death. Searching for clues, she turns to his worn copy of The Jungle Book and the stories he told her of his encounters over the years with “the deathless man.” But most extraordinary of all is the story her grandfather never told her—the legend of the tiger’s wife.
