Romanian violinists Anamaria Joldea and Estera Racz will perform in recital at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 in Presser Hall. They will play a repertoire by Mendelssohn, Lalo, Bartók and Beethoven. The concert is free and open to the public.
Joldea has been studying violin since she was 5 years old. She has won the second prize at the Eugen Cuteanu Euro-regional Competition for Violin and Low Strings in Timisoara, Romania, and the first prize at the Sigismund Toduță International Festival in Deva, Romania. She currently is a freshman at the Sabin Dragoi High School of Arts in Romania.
Racz started studying violin at the age of 6. She has been awarded many prizes, awards of excellence and distinctions in national and international competitions. Also, she is a member of the Youth Famous Orchestra and Sinfonietta Orchestra in Romania. Currently, Racz is a senior at Sigismund Toduță Music High School in Romania.
