Wildflower program at McElroy Center April 11

On Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m, the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District will be offering Nature 101: Wildflowers at the McElroy Environmental Education Center.

Join a naturalist and explore the sign of spring wildflowers, their natural history, biology, identification, and lore. An indoor presentation will be followed by a short hike in the woods behind the center. Please call 419-221-1232 to register by April 9. 

Mom-to-mom sale April 13

A mom-to-mom sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 13, in the Ada Depot, 112 Central Ave.

The sale will include gently used baby and child items, such as clothing, toys, games, shoes, bedding, bottles, and maternity items. 

Winter Guards perform for the community

Monday evening in the varsity gym

The Ada High School Winter Guards will perform their state champion and state runner-up performances for the community on Monday, April 8, at 8 p.m. in the varsity gym.

The varsity Winter Guard’s program titled “The Pale Blue Dot” tells about the importance of our planet and underscores our responsibility to protect and cherish it.  

Members of the state champion varsity Winter Guard include: Jake Colwell, Olivia Hiester, Samantha Crawford, Madison Wright, Kaylee Huffer, Victoria Ross, Leona Dalton, Olivia Thomas and Olivia Green.

"Shrek: The Musical" on Ada HS stage April 12-14

Pre-sale tickets are now on sale in the high school office

“Shrek: the Musical,” is coming to Ada April 12-14.

Performances are at 7 p.m., Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 14, in the Ada school auditorium.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale in the high school office and during the evening and day of each performance. Tickets are $5 and are all general admission.

Leads in the music include: Coco McLaughlin as Fiona, Reece Evans as Shrek, Theodore Hadley as Donkey, and Ethan Hull as Lord Farquaad.

Scott Henning is the musical director. Jonathan Lischak directs the pit orchestra and Oshra Gadkar directing choreography. 

First graders musical performed twice on Thursday

Ada first graders will present a musical this week.

The musical is titled, "Bada Bing, It's Spring!" by Jill Gallina. Two presentations are planned, on Thursday, April 4, at 1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Here's the storyline: The children are waiting for warm weather, the rain is pouring, the weeds have appeared, but the flowers are still nowhere to be found! Come join us as we have fun waiting for the first signs of spring!
