Open house Saturday for new business

Marilyn Reed will have an open house Saturday for a new business called Art and Soul Painting Studio located at 7638 CR 90, which is between SR 309 and Foraker. The open house will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The studio will be open, and a tent has been put up for the open house where several craftsmen will have work on display and for sale.

Marilyn says she paints on “anything that doesn’t move.” She paints gourds, murals, on wood pieces made by her husband and, of course, on canvas.

Brauen's Gourds open house Sept. 1-2

Don and Jodi Brauen will hold an open house for Brauen's Gourds on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1-2. Click here for their Facebook.

The open house is at their residence, 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton. Hours are:
• Saturday, Sept. 1 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, Sept. 2 - 1 to 4 p.m.

New this year is a Christmas open house on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HealthWise Pharmacy is giving free multivitamins to children and adults through a partnership with Cardinal Health.

The vitamins are available at the ONU pharmacy building Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. For answers to questions about this program, call 419-772-3784.

Heldman auction Aug. 23

A public auction takes place Thursday, Aug. 23, starting at 3 p.m., at 4580 Township Road 29, Bluffton. Marilyn and Ronald Heldman, owners.

Includes antiques, primitives, old items and collectibles, household goods and miscellanous items, plus Allis Chalmers tractor, Case skid steer, John Deere riding tractor.

Trent W. Farthing, is the auctioneer. The attachment at the bottom of this story lists auction items.

Amanda Striblen named LNB Kenton branch operations manager

Amanda Striblen joined Liberty National Bank as the Branch Operations Manager at the Kenton office, according to Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., Liberty National president and CEO.

Striblen has been in the banking industry since 2012 and has held various positions. She grew up in the village of Prospect and now lives in Kenton. She is a member of the Kenton Rotary Club and Hardin County Young Professionals.

Public auction Aug. 18, Country Road 29

A public auction of a country home, 1721 Hancock County Road 29, the Willis Anderson property, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 18, according to Walter Brothers auctioneers/realtors.
