"Where the Red Fern Grows," "The Future of Us," and "Good Lord Bird" November book discussion themes

Interested in discussing a good book with your friends. Depending upon your age, there are three book discussion group options at the Ada Public Library in November.

Here’s the schedule:

Tween (4th to 6th grade) Book Group
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 4 p.m.
Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls

Teen (8th to 12th grade) Book Group
Thursday, Nov. 20, 4 p.m.
The Future of Us, by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler

Book Discussion Group
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m.
Good Lord Bird, by James McBride

Ada Library's Hayride & Pumpkin Pick RESCHEDULED

Famous Characters and Authors

The Ada Public Library was recently the recipient of art work donated by Ohio Northern University student, Abby Brown.

Brown, (Majoring in Advertising Design, Minoring in Marketing) created a literary alphabet--which now hangs in the Ada Public Library's Reading Room--in Professor Melissa Eddings Mancuso's Art 3301 Screenprinting.

Tween book discussion group reading "Doll Bones"

“Doll Bones,” winner of a 2014 Newbery Honor Medal, is the next book on the Tween book group, according to Amanda Bennet of the library.

The group, for 4th through 6th graders will discuss the book at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, at the library.

The book’s author is co-created of the Spiderwick Chronicles.

Future books on the Tween discussion list include “Where the Red Fern Grows,” by Wilson Rawls, in November, and “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens, in December.

Reading with Rover

Practice your reading skills with the friendliest dog in Ada, Ohio - Snickerdoodle! He loves to sit with his trainer, (Susan Putt) and listen to children read! Reading with Rover is an exciting program returning to the Ada Public Library this Friday, September 12 and Friday, September 26 beginning at 3:45pm. Any child in Kindergarten-6th grade is able to participate. Sign-up is a must, so schedule a 20 minute time slot with one of our librarians at the circulation desk. Amish Book Group
