How about an afternoon of marshmallow games, sensory art, an introduction to ancestry.com, Japanese culture, bluegrass and toss in a movie with free popcorn.

The library’s event calendar is now available and is posted as an attachment to this story.

Library board sets 2019 meeting dates

The Ada Public Library board will meet at 9 a.m. on the third Monday of the month in 2019, with one exception. The January meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The meetings are held at the library and are open to the public.

Free wrapping at Library on Saturday

Youth who are active in events at the Ada Public Library have volunteered to wrap Christmas presents for free between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22. This may be especially helpful for last-minute shoppers going from store-to-store in downtown Ada. Make a purchase, drop it off at the library for wrapping, then continue shopping.

That's right.
These houses look good enough to eat. Several young Ada residents demonstrated their house-building abilities recently in an evening devoted to holiday tradition: creating gingerbread houses.

Construction material included an assortment of jellybeans, candy canes, peppermint candy, gumdrops and, of course icing and graham crackers.

Kids invited to make a gingerbread house at the library

Once again, the Ada Public Library will sponsor two times to make gingerbread houses:
4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13
3-5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14

If you are looking to entertain kids with something creative and gooey, then building gingerbread houses fits the bill. Sign up ahead of time is required.
