If you had a good time at Ada Public Library on Saturday, then you'll want to return this Saturday, according to Natalie Walton, youth services librarian.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday is billed as Summer Reading Kickoff: Part II.
Events of the day are hosted by HOBY Ohio West Ambassadors, and include read-alouds, popcorn, games and animals. Contact the library for complete details.
Rhett Grant, Ada Public Library director, and Natalie Walton, youth services coordinator, sign in people for the summer reading program at the Ada Public Library. Many people were on hand Saturday to register for summer reading and see bagpipers, small animals, emergency equipment, even a steel drum band. Inside the newly renovated and expanded library, the Friends of the Library sold books for a donation as well as t-shirts. The library was the “go to” place to be on Saturday.

It was a zoo, latterly, at the opening of the Ada Public Library summer reading program. There were goats and sheep, giant rabbits, a calf, bagpipers, steel band drummers, used books for sale, a fire truck, ambulance, police cars, and more. Here are Ken Collins photos, capturing some of the fun people, of all ages, had on Saturday. Oh, yes, and lots of people signed up for the summer reading program, too.
