In observance of Safe Digging Month, Common Ground Alliance (CGA) – the national association dedicated to protecting underground utility lines, people who dig near them, and their communities – recently announced results from a recent national survey which found 27.2 million Americans planning digging projects in the next year will not contact their local 811, putting themselves and their communities at risk of utility service disruptions, costly fines and repairs, and even serious injury or death.

SPENCERVILLE __ The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 10-1 at former Northwest Conference foe Spencerville on a chilly Thursday evening, April 10.

The Bearcats broke open a close 3-1 game with seven runs in the sixth inning to seal the verdict.

Ada’s overall record dropped to 2-4 after the loss. The hosts improved to 2-3 with the victory.

The Bulldogs led 1-0 after the first inning. Senior leadoff hitter Levi Green singled, stole second and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Brody Rister.

The Bearcats took the lead with three runs in the home third.

You are cordially invited to our Annual Meeting May 15th at The Coterie.  This is a casual event, with appetizers and beverages available.  Please come between 4:30 and 5:00 to mix and mingle.  Our business meeting will begin at 5:00, with a year in review, and our 2024 awards.  We will follow this with the recognition or our outgoing and incoming board members, and our 2025 partner agencies.   We will end the evening with the Bonnie McBride Pie Auction. 

OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital will partner with local law enforcement and community organizations for Hardin County Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

This event provides a safe, legal, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of expired or unused prescription and over-the-counter medications.  

Community members are encouraged to bring their medications to any of the three convenient drop-off locations:  

Ada: ONU parking lot between Rite Aid (now closed) and Starbucks, 602 S Main St., Ada, OH 45810 (Enter off of Main Street and exit onto College Ave.)

LIMA __ The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 is seeking public comments on an intersection improvement project at State Route 67 and State Route 235 in Roundhead Township, Hardin County.
