Baumgartner wins 100 fly at districts

Bulldog swimmer will make 4th trip to state

BOWLING GREEN – Eight Ada High School swimmers competed at the Div. II district meet at Bowling Green State University on February 14, with one qualifying again for state.

Ada senior Lily Baumgartner won one individual district championship, and finished second in another race. 

Baumgartner touched first in the 100-yard backstroke by a large margin of 1.8 seconds to automatically advance to the state meet in Canton for the fourth consecutive year. 

She also finished a strong second in the 100-yard butterfly race. 

Weekend Doctor: Prescribing opioid medication responsibly for pain

Pain management has become one of the most challenging aspects of modern medical care. In the wake of the well-publicized opioid crisis, we, as physicians, must balance effective pain treatment with responsible prescribing practices, especially when it comes to opioid medications.

A balanced approach to pain management is essential. While opioid medications play an important role in treating certain types of pain, they represent just one tool in our comprehensive treatment arsenal. Modern pain management incorporates multiple therapeutic approaches, including non-narcotic medications, physical therapy, and interventional procedures.

Hardin County goat banquet set for April 5

HARDIN COUNTY__The sixth annual Hardin County Goat Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 5 at the Kenton Moose Lodge. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 5:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend the banquet.

Reservations need to be made by calling the OSU Extension office at419-674-2297 by March 31.

The menu will be potluck style. The main course and drink will be provided but guests are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Farmers & Merchants Picnic looking for vendors

The 112th Annual Farmers and Merchants Picnic is now accepting vendor applications.

The event will be held on August 9. Organizers shared the following on Facebook: "We are running a special this year if signed up and paid before May 1. So if you are interested, text Jeni at 419-230-4978, Kaylee at 419-230-3065 or Heather at 419-204-3668."
