Ada Kwanis members create "Smile Packs" for Uganda youths

Members of the Ada Kiwanis recently assembled back-to-school and hygiene bags for the Children of Nations Smile Pack drive for Uganda Africa.

David MacDonald is the project coordinator.

The school packs holds a variety of items including:

• composition books
• Math Kit (ruler, protractor, compass)
• package of colored pencils
• pencil box filled with the following items:
• blue/black pens
• pencils
• pencil sharpener
• glue sticks
• pink eraser
• pair of safety scissors

Sixty football season ago: 1954.

Ada High School Bulldogs went 7-1 including wins over Kenton, Wapakoneta and Bluffton. The team outscored opponents 195 to 85.

"Ladies Night" set Aug. 13 at Ideal Images

Ideal Images, 114 E. College Ave., Bluffton, will host a “Ladies Night,” Wednesday, Aug. 13, according to Rachel Webster owner.

The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ideal Images.

“The event will be a fun evening including Sycamore Lake Wine, Tastefully Simple, Premier Jewelry, Nicki Moser cake decorating and promotional spirit wear items to order and purchase, said Webster.

Hardin County Fair has booth space for businesses

Fair booth spaces are now available for this year's Hardin County Fair. This year's fair runs from Sept. 2-7.

Booth spaces are open in the Merchant (one space 9 x 8 1/2 feet $122) and Community building (spaces 9 x 10 feet for $180 each), also outside ground space is available at $14 per front foot. Food spaces are filled.

Here's an update on Cessna Minutemen 4-H Club

The Cessna Minutemen 4-H held a meeting on July 29, at Walnut Grove Church. Vice president, Ashley Breidenbach led the 4-H pledge while president, Zac Breidenbach led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was taken by Kenzie Kater by asking the members their favorite color. Minutes were also read by Kenzie Kater. The treasurer's report was read and it was announced that the members need to pay for their books and dues by the August 19th meeting.
