Ada taxi

Wednesday is known as "Hump Day" and it was literally so at ONU this week when students took turns, two riders at a time, on one of the hump-back beasts. A handler walked the camel around a roped off area for the bumpy ride. Steps led up to the camel's seats, so mounting the animal was easy. A long line of students awaited their turn in chilly weather, a few snow flakes in the air, probably unlike the camel's native home in the hot deserts of the Middle East.  CLICK HERE for more camel  photos on Saturday.

All former Ada 3rd graders: Remember your Arbor Day tree?

One of the cool things about being in the third grade at Ada Elementary School is the annual Arbor Day celebration.

Each spring, the volunteers on the Ada Tree Commission visit the third graders to talk about trees. The commissioners share stories about trees, wildlife and how to plant the bare root tree each student receives from the Tree Commission.
