RAWSON __ The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team whipped Cory-Rawson 13-0 in a memorable, record-setting North Central Ohio Soccer Association season finale Wednesday night, October 2.

Ada senior Logan Jolliff netted a school-record nine goals, which tied the third-highest single-match total in OHSAA history. The previous Bulldog record of eight goals was set by Jake Poling in 2020.

Bulldog senior Nathan Williams also passed out a school match-record six assists in the blowout win. His total is tied for seventh-most in OHSAA annals. He also scored one goal and set a program record for assists in a season with 22.

Ada improved to 11-4 overall and ended up 2-3 in league play after the lopsided victory.

C-R dropped to 1-14 overall with the loss, and finished 0-5 in NCOSA play to end up last in the rugged six-team league.

“I am very happy with how we played,” said Bulldog first-year head coach Aaron Acheson. “Our focus was on playing hard, good fundamentals, and the big picture. I am very happy for Logan and Nathan.

”We had 10 assists on 13 goals,” he continued. “Freshman Will Mosler and sophomore Tim Chrissobolis each scored their first varsity goal.

“Overall, we played at a high level and took care of business,” he added.

Jolliff started the assault with a goal two minutes into the fray from Williams. Jolliff made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal with 17 minutes left in the half.

Four minutes later he hit the back of the net again off a Williams ball. A minute later, the duo hooked up again with Jolliff tallying his fourth.

Jolliff put the Bulldogs in front 5-0 on a goal off an Andrew Allen assist at the 10-minute mark. Jolliff made it six scores in one half with eight minutes left, again scoring from a Williams assist.

The senior duo has developed very good chemistry.

Mosler hit the back of the net a minute later on another Williams dish. Williams then fed Chrissobolis for his goal at the four-minute mark to stretch the lead to 7-0 at intermission.

Allen tallied his goal 11 minutes into the second half unassisted. Jolliff scored off an Evan Miller assist to extend the margin to 9-0 with 25 minutes remaining.

Joshua Thaxton assisted the next Jolliff goal with 14 minutes left. Jolliff netted his ninth and final goal with four minutes remaining from a Mosler assist to provide the final margin of 13.

Mosler and Allen tallied one goal and one assist apiece. Evan Miller and Thaxton each doled out one assist.

Ada goalkeeper Jacob Rush was credited with one save in the shutout.

The Bulldogs rifled 23 shots on goal, and earned four corner kicks.

“The boys are playing hard and for each other,” said Acheson. “It was great to see Will and Tim get goals. Logan and Nathan absolutely love soccer and are four-year lettermen. I appreciate their work ethic.

“They both are very deserving of the accomplishments they are earning this season,” he added. “We will turn the page Thursday and begin working towards the next competition.”

Up next is “Kicking it for Cancer Night” Monday, October 7 at War Memorial Stadium. The Bulldog reserves kick off play vs. Calvary Christian at 5 p.m. in the opener.

The Ada varsity then plays at home vs. struggling Lima Central Catholic (1-12, 0-3 NWC) at 7 p.m.
