Does the thought of the upcoming Ada High School Homecoming Dance make you a little jealous? Check out this opportunity to dress up and dance while raising funds for Beatitudes community services.
On October 12–the same night that Ada students attend the Homecoming Dance–Beatitudes is inviting those 21 and over to a “Re-Prom” at the McIntosh Center ballroom. The event includes dancing to tunes spun by DJ Smokin’ Joe Bacon, light hors d’oeuvres, two wine/beer tickets, raffles, dance floor Polaroids and the crowning of the Re-Prom King and Queen.
Tickets are $25, available at Beatitudes, Bee Home and Middlefield bank until October 4. If you can’t make it into town to purchase tickets, contact Beatitudes at (419) 788-9459 to place an order and pick up tickets at the door.
Beatitudes director Deb Curlis explains that the community center board decided it was time for a big fundraiser. She notes that the approach is “Silly and fun. We hope for folks in formal wear, but it’s not required.” Everyone who purchases a ticket will be entered in the drawing to be crowned Re-Prom royalty.
Curlis notes that her husband will wear a glitzy tuxedo jacket purchased at the Beatitudes thrift store, 210 N Main, which receives a lot of formal wear donations.
At the time of this discussion, about half of the Re-Prom tickets were sold.
