Ruby J. Holbrook, 85, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at 8:02 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.

She was born on June 24, 1935, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to Rev. Seward and Mary (Hurt) Dyer who preceded her in death. On March 15, 1952, Ruby married Rev. James Holbrook and he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2010.

Ohio Northern University winter sports teams had a winning weekend. Here are summaries of those team's events.

WRESTLING
ADA — The Ohio Northern wresting team wrapped up its abbreviated 2021 season with a 30-13 victory over Otterbein on Sunday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.

The Polar Bears finish with a 3-1 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals end their season 1-3, 1-3.

Ohio Northern also celebrated Senior Day on Sunday and honored its graduating senior Rhett Roeder(Monroeville).

It may be Super Bowl Sunday, but these Ohio Northern University football players are focused on their own game as spring practices recently took place. (From ONU Facebook)

Jake Poling was crowned king and Paige Cole queen of the 2020-21 Ada High School homecoming. The announcement was made on Friday. 

Other seniors on the court are Jeffrey (Jacob) Bassitt and Miranda Wills,Trent Ennis and Megan Light.
