The Quarry Farm invitation to 8th annual jam session

PANDORA—Music of all kinds will fill the air on Saturday, September 10 when The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve & Conservation Farm, Pandora, hosts the organization's annual Jam from 6:00-9:00 p.m. 

The invitation: "Whether you play an instrument like a virtuoso or just like to pretend, sing along or listen, people of all ages are invited to this family-friendly event. Bring a lawn chair and spend a sweet late summer evening with music under the outdoor pavilion's big red roof, alongside the calls from the nature preserve."

Children's choir auditions for Christmas season

Noteworthy Community Choir is holding auditions for Voices, a children's choir, on Thursday, September 15 from 7:00 -8:40 p.m. Group auditions of 20 minutes each will run children through a few warmups, singing “Are You Sleeping” in unison and as a round, and a few pitch matching exercises. 

Voices will rehearse Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on October 20, November 3, 10, 17, and December 1 and 8.  A concert is scheduled for December 11. Children participating in Voices will be given music files to sing along with between the audition and the first rehearsal.  

Klingler paces Bulldog golfers in NWC quad

League-leading Leipsic High School won a four-team Northwest Conference match at Pike Run Golf Club in Ottawa Wednesday evening, August 31.

The Vikings won with a total of 172 strokes. Delphos Jefferson was second with 187, followed by Allen East (191) and Ada (234).

Ada senior Geddes Klingler shot a personal-best round of 42 to pace the Bulldogs.

Junior Jack Baumgartner posted a 53. Senior Dale Hoyt carded a 69, while freshman Jayden Shaffer rounded out the Ada scorers with a 74.
Freshman Sam Crawford added an 80.

Ada boy kickers tie with Miller City

The Ada High School boys soccer team tied visiting Miller City 1-1 in a non-league match under the lights Wednesday evening, August 31, at War Memorial Park Stadium.

The Bulldogs ran their record to 4-0-2 overall with the tie. MC is now 2-1-2. "It was a hard-fought, physical game on both sides," said Ada head Jason Okuly. 

MC netted the first goal, but Bulldog Carson Gossard scored the equalizer on an assist from senior Carter Conley. Both teams scored early and neither could tally again over the last 60 minutes of the defense-oriented contest.

PPK USA advances young athletes to national competition

On August 27, a Punt, Pass and Kick USA, Inc.-sanctioned competition at ONU’s Dial-Roberson Stadium brought out the best in young athletes and from the Ada community. The competition was part of the 2022 Made in Ada Wilson Football Festival. Some 130 children ages 6-15 were registered for the free event which will advance top scorers to a national competition.
