The Ada High School boys soccer team tied visiting Miller City 1-1 in a non-league match under the lights Wednesday evening, August 31, at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Bulldogs ran their record to 4-0-2 overall with the tie. MC is now 2-1-2. "It was a hard-fought, physical game on both sides," said Ada head Jason Okuly.
MC netted the first goal, but Bulldog Carson Gossard scored the equalizer on an assist from senior Carter Conley. Both teams scored early and neither could tally again over the last 60 minutes of the defense-oriented contest.
Ada's Nathan Williams rifled a left-footed shot from about 15 yards out that slammed off the left post with 9:02 remaining to play, and the rebound bounced right back onto the field of play to the defense.
Bulldog keeper Colton Long was credited with four saves in goal.
Ada visits NCOSA rival Riverdale (0-2-1) in their first road match Thursday, September 8.
