Ada runners compete at Kalida
By Cort Reynolds

KALIDA - The Ada cross country team competed at the Wildcat Invitational Saturday morning, with five harriers posting personal-best times at the Kalida Fish and Game Club course.

The Lady Bulldogs finished ninth out of 11 teams while the Ada boys came in 17th out of 19 squads.

"The boys ran with four other conference schools; we fell a little behind Bluffton who took 14th place, while recently defeated Allen East did not have enough boys to place in order to compare our two teams," said Ada coach Josh Klein.

Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday for a giant solar project on campus. The event is open to the public.

Nealy 18,000 panels that collect the sun's energy will be installed on about 11 acres of university-owned land along the east side of Klingler Road south of the stadium.

The project will produce two megawatts of electricity annually, or about 10% of ONU's electric consumption (or enough for 210 average homes.) It will reduce carbon emissions by 2,200 tons.

This Bluffton picture has an Ada connection

This Bluffton picture has an Ada connection. It is this week's Bluffton Icon historical photo. And because of the Ada connect, we are curious if an Ada viewer can help us with more additional information.

Taken in the 1914-15 school year this Bluffton College student group called themselves “Student Volunteers.” It turns out that members of this group intended to enter the Christian mission field upon graduating from college.

Here’s who they are:
