Dr. Hageman Thursday Lunch and Learn speaker

How to prevent falls is the topic of Dr. Jason Hageman's talk during a Lunch and Learn program sponsored by Community Health Professionals.

Dr. Hageman, who is the lead physician at the new Mercy Health/Ada Family Medicine facility, will speak at noon on Thursday at CHP, 1200 S. Main.

The Lunch and Learn speaker series is free and open to the public. Call CHP to reserve a lunch, which is provided by Liberty National Bank.

Ada resident retires from Kenton medical practice

After 20 years of successful teaching at Ohio Northern, Judy Hruschka decided to go to med school.

The long-time Ada resident did just that at the age of 53. She retired from her medical practice in Kenton last month and has turned her attention to gardening, something she and her husband Peter have always enjoyed doing.

Foggy morning breakdown

Where's the railroad track? Where's the water tower? Where's Waldo? It was a foggy day in Ada on Monday. School started with a two-hour delay but the fog won and school was cancelled. Ken Collins offers this early-morning hour photos.

A gutty defensive stop ended the game as the Bulldogs won a 27-26 Homecoming thriller over the visiting Crestview Knights.

Down by one with four seconds to play and the ball on the Ada two yard line, Crestview elected to keep their offense on the field. Knight quarterback Drew Kline took the snap and felt immediate pressure from Bulldog defender Ethan Swaney, forcing the sophomore quarterback to throw a wobbly pass into the end zone.

Relentless in Ada

Several days of rain and light showers put the first annual Hardin County Pullers fall brawl In jeopardy on Saturday, but with a lot of work the area was ready for the contest. The event began only 40 minutes late. Most of the pullers showed up to test their skill and machines, but the crowd was reduced considerably compared to the 4,000 who attended in May.
