SPENCERVILLE - The Ada cross country teams competed at the Spencerville Invitational Saturday morning.
Senior Jacob Morgan paced Ada despite running in his first meet this season. He finished 32nd out of 150 runners with a solid time of 19:05.07.
Morgan also plays golf for the Ada varsity this season.
Sophomore Robby Waters ran second for the Bulldogs, coming home 107th in 22:36.5. Classmate Connor Daugherty crossed the finish line 121st in 23:34.8.
Ada senior Cole Anspaugh ended up 134th in 25:10.
Botkins won the 23-team boys red division title, scoring 31 points. Covington was second (58) and Houston third (112). Upper Scioto Valley finished 11th, while Ada was one runner short of a team score.
Junior Brayden Yingst of Perry won the individual race with a time of 16:18.3.
Sophomore Amelia Alexander also paced the Lady Bulldogs in her first meet of the season. She finished 68th out of 127 runners with a time of 25:27.7.
Alexander also plays volleyball for the Bulldogs.
Ada freshman Elsie Allen crossed the finish line 122nd in a time of 30:55.2.
Sophomore Taylor Spencer of Waynesfield won the girls race in 18:51.1.
St. Henry edged Botkins for thr girls red division team crown, 62-66. Runners from 21 schools participated, with 13 fielding at least the five runners needed to record a team score.
The Bulldog harriers run next at the Galion Invitational Saturday morning, September 19.
