Bulldog boys crush Rangers

The visiting Ada boys soccer team earned its first win of 2021 with a 7-0 whitewash of New Knoxville Monday evening.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-0-1 with the victory, while NK fell to 0-1 after the defeat.

Freshmen Logan Jolliff and Nathan Williams each tallied two goals to pace the offense.

Juniors Carter Conley, Cody Loy and Brendan Jameson all netted one goal apiece.

Sophomore Colton Long made two saves in goal for Ada.  

The Bulldog boys travel to Old Fort Thursday, August 26 for a 5:30 p.m. contest.

An appropriately placed message

You may have noticed this appropriately placed message before. It reads, "Children are the tomorrow of society," and is located on the side of Ada schools.

Tickets on sale for annual Music Boosters barbecue dinners

Ada Music Boosters annual chicken barbecue will be held Friday, September 10, before the first home football game.

Tickets may be purchased online, http://adamusicboosterfundraisers.square.site/, for $10 each. Dinners include pulled pork and pulled chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, and a dinner roll.

The dinners will be available for pick up from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ada War Memorial Park.

Bulldog Cards are also available for purchase online for $10 each.

Community Meal will be held Wednesday, August 25

St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove UME will be sponsoring a Community Meal on Wednesday, August 25.

The meal will take place at St. Mark Lutheran Church at the corner of Johnson and Lincoln from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This month's meal is a ham sandwich, potato salad, mandarin orange cup, chips, cheese slice, and pudding cup.

Curb-side service or dine-in will be available. The meal is free and open to the public. Last month over 100 meals were served.

Ada boys tie TC in opener

The Ada boys soccer team kicked off its season with a 1-1 tie at Tiffin Columbian Saturday.

Freshman Logan Jolliff netted the lone Bulldog goal. Sophomore Colton Long made four saves in his goalkeeping debut for Ada.  

"I think we dominated possession and had more shots on goal, but their keeper was quite good," said Ada head coach Jason Okuly. "We just couldn't find the back of the net."

The Bulldog boys travel to New Knoxville Monday, August 23 for a 5:30 p.m. match. The Bulldogs then visit Old Fort Thursday, August 26 at 5:30 p.m.

Bulldog golfers split league tri

The Ada golf team split a three-team Northwest Conference match Monday at the Tamarac Golf Course in Lima.

Lincolnview won with 171 strokes, followed by Ada (221) and match host Spencerville (235).

The Bulldog linksters ran their record to 3-10 overall and 2-7 in NWC play with the split.     

Ada senior Andrew Rush paced the Bulldogs with a nine-hole score of 49. Senior Dexter Woods was second for Ada with a 52. Junior Geddes Klingler shot a 57.

Bulldog senior Kamron Wilkerson and sophomore Jack Baumgartner each posted a 63 as the fourth Ada scorer. Freshman Wyatt Ferguson registered a 74.
