Bulldog girl kickers lose to Coldwater

The Ada girls soccer team lost a weather-shortened game 6-1 to Coldwater Thursday evening in the home opener on the new synthetic turf field at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada fell to 1-1 with the defeat, while Coldwater improved to 2-0 with the win.

Senior Julia Kamatali scored the lone Lady Bulldog goal.

Cavalier Ava Giere tallied four gols and dished out two assists to pace the victors. Maddie Sheffer and Hope Hemmelgarn netted the other Coldwater scores.

The game was stopped at halftime due to thunderstorms in the area.

The Ada girls host Marion Harding Saturday, August 28 at 1 p.m.

Ada girls fall to powerful Cavaliers

The host Ada volleyball team lost a straight-sets match to undefeated Coldwater on a steamy Thursday evening.

After a competitive start, the Lady Bulldogs fell 25-17, 25-10, 25-7.    

Ada dropped to 1-3 overall and 1-2 at home with the defeat. Meanwhile, Coldwater improved to 5-0 after the sweep.

"The stats don't show it but we played well," said Ada head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "Coldwater is a really strong team. They are great defensively, and it is very hard to get a kill against them or to put the ball away."

It’s always a joyful moment when a new baby is born. Everyone in the family wants to come to meet the new addition. A few days later, this precious little baby is struggling to breathe and needs to be in the ICU with RSV bronchiolitis.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is generally a virus present in the winter, usually at its worst in January and February each year. This year, RSV and influenza were conspicuously absent in the winter months. There are likely multiple reasons for this, but the bottom line is that RSV is here now.

Ada golfers edge Falcons

The Ada golf squad defeated Riverdale in a close dual match Wednesday at the Bluffton Golf Course.

The Bulldogs nipped the Falcons, 213-217.

The Ada linksters improved to 4-10 with the win.     

Ada senior Andrew Rush was match medalist with a score of 51. Bulldog senior Dexter Woods was second at 52.

Junior Geddes Klingler carded a 54 to take third for Ada. Senior Kamron Wilkerson shot a 56 to round out the Bulldog scorers.

Sophomore Jack Baumgartner posted a 58, while freshman Wyatt Ferguson added a round of 77.

Lady Bulldog spikers downed at Kenton

The visiting Ada volleyball team dropped a close four-set non-league match at Hardin County rival Kenton Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 0-2 but won an overtime third game to stave off defeat. But Ada was unable to take set four as they eventually lost the hard-fought match 25-19, 25-23, 27-29, 25-20.    

Ada fell to 1-2 with the defeat, while Kenton improved to 1-1 after their first win.

Bulldog sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen dished out 25 assists. Sophomore Daicy Robinson led Ada with nine kills.
