AHS football team drafts March Madness fundraiser

The Ada High School football team has issued the following invitation to the March Madness fundraiser:

Help out the Ada Football team by purchasing a March Madness square! If you would like to purchase squares let Coach Sean Anderson know! $20 a piece!  The rules and explanation are as follows:

 We sell 100 squares at $20 a piece

The squares would be randomly put on a 10x10 grid board at a date before the tournament begins.

That board will then be posted on the Ada Football Facebook page for people to see their numbers.

Bulldog boys season ends with sectional loss to Redskins

Playing in Coldwater, the Ada High School boys basketball team got off to a strong start but eventually lost 73-55 to St. Henry in Div. IV first round sectional play Tuesday night, February 22.

The Bulldogs led 20-19 after the first quarter, but fell behind 35-28 by halftime.

"We played well early," said Ada head coach Vince Halliday. "We scored easily but couldn't get stops. We gave up two easy layups on lobs, and a few too many second-chance points.

"In the second quarter they played a little more downhill and we had a hard time stopping the ball, got beat off the dribble.

Blanchard Valley Health System Adjusts Visitation Guidelines

At the time of this announcement, Hardin County has been downgraded from red to orange COVID transmission level.

Effective Monday, February 21, 2022, Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) is adjusting its visitation guidelines, which will lessen the restrictions on visitors coming into the organization. This change is due to the observed reduction of positive COVID-19 cases within the community.

Feb. 24 Community Meal at St. Mark Lutheran

St. Mark Lutheran will serve it's Free Community Meal on Wednesday,
February 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Lincoln and Johnson.

The meal is free and opened to the public. You may drive up, dine in, or carry out. 

The February menu is pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, fruit, and a cookie.  The church reports that it served 75 meals in January and notes "we hope to see you there."

 

Elmer E. Ousley worked for Dana Corp.

Elmer E. Ousley, age 78, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 11:55 a.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on October 20, 1943, in Harrod, Ohio to the late Lonzo and Josie (Prater) Ousley. 

Elmer retired from Dana Corporation, Lima where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of the Lima Elks B.P.O.E. #54, the Lima Eagles Post #370 and the Lima VFW Post #1275.  He loved to play golf and was an avid sports fan, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Elmer loved his family, especially his grandsons.
