June 4 AHS football and basketball fundraiser

Bethel Church of Christ hosts VBS in July

Children ages 3-rising 6th graders are invited to Vacation Bible School at 6:00-8:00 p.m. from July 19-22, at Bethel Church of Christ, 4014 Couty Rd. 304, Ada.

"Jerusalem Marketplace" VBS will explore what it was like to walk with Jesus during his last week on Earth.

Naomi Judd contracted Hepatitis C as a nurse

The Country Song of the Year Grammy was awarded to Love Can Build a Bridge performed by the Judds in 1992. The song was released in 1990 as a farewell after Naomi Judd was diagnosed with a hepatitis C infection. Naomi attended California’s College of Marin to study nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked in the intensive care unit at a Tennessee hospital when she contracted hepatitis C from a needlestick when taking care of a patient.  Healthcare professionals are at risk of contracting hepatitis from a needlestick.  

Private memorials will be held for Jeffrey Parkins and Peggy Parkins

Jeffrey Parkins and Peggy Parkins died on May 7, 2022 at their residence in McGuffey due to a house fire. Memorial services will be private with Price-McElroy Funeral Home of Kenton assisting the family with arrangements. 

PEGGY PARKINS

Peggy was born in Lima on April 7, 1968 to Janet Evans of Lima and the late Roscoe Evans. On April 6, 2020 she married Tony Parkins Sr. and he survives in McGuffey.

Also surviving are her children; Sharayah (Daniel) Blackowske, Jason (Ashley) Barron, Austin (Elizabeth) Barron, Tony (April) Parkins Jr., Roger (Mary) Parkins and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bulldog tennis squad nipped by Bluffton, 3-2

The Ada High School tennis team lost 3-2 at local rival Bluffton in a makeup match Tuesday evening, May 10.

The Bulldog dual match record dropped to 4-5 with the defeat. Bluffton improved to 5-6 after the victory. 

Ada won the top two singles matches easily in the battle between the only two Northwest Conference teams to sport varsity spring tennis. 

Bulldog senior Dexter Woods cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at first singles over senior Luke Shadle.

Junior Brendan Jameson rolled in straight sets at second singles over junior Braeden Ackerman, also by a 6-1, 6-1 count.

Play It Blue Jazz performs at The Inn, May 13

Play It Blue Jazz will perform on the patio of The Inn at Ohio Northern University, 401 W College Ave. from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on May 13.
