Make designating a sober driver your game plan this Super Bowl Sunday

COLUMBUS–As people gather for Super Bowl parties on Sunday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol urges fans to refrain from driving impaired. If you plan on consuming alcohol, don’t drive and plan ahead to designate a sober driver.

In an effort to keep our roadways safe this Super Bowl Sunday, troopers will be cracking down on impaired drivers. You can do your part by reminding friends and family that Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.

College Credit Plus meeting for Ada High School students

Ada High School will host a College Credit Plus meeting at 6:00 p.m. on February 15 in the auditorium. Students and parents are invited to attend the meeting to learn about the College Credit Plus program mandated by House Bill 487. 

The law allows high school students to enroll in college courses while enrolled in high school, if the student meets eligibility requirements set by the college or university. Students may enroll during the school day or in the evening. If the student chooses to use the credit toward high school graduation, the cost of tuition, books, and fees will be paid by the high school.

Bulldogs girls basketball felled by Bearcats in NWC finale

SPENCERVILLE–The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team battled but lost 62-44 to Spencerville in the Northwest Conference and regular season finale Thursday night, February 9.

Bulldog senior Courtney Sumner tossed in a team-high 21 points, including three triples, in a losing effort. 

Bearcat guard Kirsten Wurst countered with a game-high 22 points.

Ada finished its regular season 11-11 overall, and ended up 0-8 in the NWC with the defeat.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field posts 9 top-20 finishes on final day of Ashland Open

February 4--The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team posted nine top-20 finishes on the final day of the Jud Logan Light Giver Open on Saturday at Ashland University's Niss Athletic Center.

The 4x400 relay team of sophomore Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge), juniors J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Sydney Goodrich (Romeo, Mich.) and freshman Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) posted a 13-place finish in 4:24.10.
