Wrestler Jarod Woodland earns an Ada HS first at NWC meet

Here's a first for the Ada HS wrestling program.

Ada High School wrestler Jarod Woodland was named co-wrestler of the year at Saturday's Northwest Conference wrestling meet held at Bluffton. Woodland, a senior, who wrestles at 195 shared the honor with Adam Deatrick, a Paulding senior, who wrestles at 170. Woodland is the first-ever Bulldog to receive the NWC wrestler title.

Ada "seniors" meet Feb. 11 at Community Health Professionals

The Ada Sernior Citizens will meet Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Health Professional Building.Those attending will make Valentine crafts for shut-ins and after a short business meeting will play cards and/or board games.

Lincoln Highway group meets in Van Wert on Feb. 17

The Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association will hold its February meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m.

Members and guests are invited to dine at The Orchard Tree, 1058 W. Main St., Van Wert. Following dinner, a short business meeting will take place.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., members and guests will tour the Van Wert County Courthouse at 121 E. Main Street in downtown Van Wert. Built in 1876, the Second Empire structure was the first Van Wert County location recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The public is invited.

Love was in the air on Saturday, just in advance of the famous February event during Community Health Professionals gift show and salad buffet The event included food and local vendors displaying great gift ideas for Valentine's Day. 

Profits from the event assist the organization's hospice care fund.
