Women's Swimming and Diving wraps up home schedule
(January 19) ADA — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team wrapped up its home schedule with a tri-meet sweep of Ohio Wesleyan and Bluffton in a home tri-meet on Friday night.

It's Girl Scout cookie time

Through March 17, local Girl Scouts will be participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, selling nine varieties of fan-favorite cookies across northwest Ohio. The annual event is the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls.

Ada boys stave off HN, win rivalry battle

ADA__Playing at home, the Ada High School boys basketball team built an early lead and held on to defeat county rival Hardin Northern 52-49 Saturday, January 20.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-11 overall with the hard-fought victory. HN fell to 3-9 after the defeat.

Bulldog boy swimmers 3rd at CC Sprints

NORTH ROBINSON__The Ada High School boys swim team finished a strong third at the Colonel Crawford Sprints meet Saturday, January 20.

The Bulldog boys totaled 201 points to end up behind first-place Margaretta (440), which edged Colonel Crawford (436) by just four points. St. Paul Norwalk (97) and Wynford (54) came in behind the Bulldogs.

The Ada girls ended up a solid fourth out of eight teams with 133 points. Meet host CC rolled to the girls title with 638 points, while Margaretta (447) was second. Norwalk finished third (323).

“Everyone was able to score points and performed very well,” said Ada head coach Ashley Robey. 

“We had a lot of heat winners and high-placing,” she continued. “This is always a fun meet because they can compete in shorter races, and there was a lot of close finishes.

Ada Community Improvement Corporation meets January 24

The Ada Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) will hold its first meeting of the year and elect officers on January 24, 2024. The public is welcome and invited to attend meetings which are held in the Ada Historical Depot beginning at 12:00 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of designated months.

Obituary for Karen E. Rodabaugh

Karen E. Rodabaugh of Myakka City, Florida formerly of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Karen was born on April 25, 1956 to Willard and Juanita Bailey. Her mother resides in Myakka City, Florida. On March 27, 1976, Karen married Tim Rodabaugh and he resides in Myakka City, Florida.
